Good Light, Good Night

Advent Day 2: Good Light, Good Night

For Day 2 of our Advent Calendar I would like to share how to put together a winter wonderful centrepiece.

Use a large platter plate as the base, size dependent on the room and table. I used a wide base as the living room is very large, anything smaller would get lost in the space. I love doilies, and use them any time an opportunity presents itself! In this case it serves to pull the rest of the items, drawing them together. Work in threes. Three candles of varying heights work well together, especially when they are lit. The white candles from Morrisons melt creatively, forming visually interesting organic curves. Add one candle that will stand out with detail and design – I will be sad when this gorgeous candle is all melted. Finally, to add some playfulness, scatter some smaller items, such as these silver pine cones. Viola!

There’s nothing so relaxing as resting on the sofa with warm candlelight after a long Tuesday!

The items I used are listed below, they are great examples that a beautiful, elegant centrepiece doesn’t have to cost a lot!
